Academic Year

In most programmes, enrolment is only possible in the winter semester. Socrates exchange students who would like to attend one or two semesters may choose to study during the winter or the summer semester. They are accepted at the beginning of the winter semester or the beginning of the summer semester.

Winter semester (WS): length of study period: 15 weeks

* Begins: 1 October

* Christmas holidays: 24 December to 6 January

* Last day of classes: 25 January

* Examination period: mid-January to mid-February

* Application deadline for Socrates exchange students: 15 May

Summer semester (SS): lecture period: 15 weeks

* Begins: 15 March

* Easter holidays: from Maundy Thursday to the Tuesday after Easter

* Pentecost holidays: from the Friday before to the Tuesday after Pentecost

* Last day of classes: 10 July

* Examination period: beginning of July to the end of July

* Application deadline for Socrates exchange students: 15 December
